Worldwide the most successful and widely-used amphibious machine is the DUKW, as they have the right characteristics to give the most authentic leisure experience but are now dated and to carry paying passengers will not meet current regulation for road and water use
LIMITATIONS
There are two limitations to the old converted DUKW:
Regulators have new standards e.g MSN 1823, which cannot be met by old machines built with materials and technology from 70 years ago.
No DUKWs were built after 1945, so it is now impossible to find amphibious machines in good enough condition to warrant conversion.
